A Cinematic Escape
If the two of you love binging HBO crime dramas, A Way Out is the gaming equivalent of a thrilling season finale, except you are the ones calling the shots.
Directed by Josef Fares, the game follows Leo and Vincent, two inmates who form an uneasy alliance to break out of prison and seek revenge.
Always Connected, Even Split
The presentation of A Way Out is what makes it so special for long-distance playing. The screen is almost always split down the middle. Even while you're playing online across the country, you can see exactly what your partner is seeing.
If you're stuck in a cutscene, you can watch them playing a game of Connect Four in the background of their side of the screen.
The pacing constantly shifts between extremes. One moment you are quietly coordinating a stealth takedown of a guard, and the next you are caught in a chaotic truck chase, yelling at your partner to shoot the tires of pursuing police cars while you desperately try to steer off-road.
It’s entirely story-driven and a fantastic weekend escape.
